The company has created works influenced by butoh, ballet and theater that have been presented in conventional performance venues and visual art spaces, including the International Triennale of Contemporary Art in Yokohama and Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Cultural History.nnYUKIO SUZUKI began training in butoh in Asbestos House in 1997 and has performed in works by artists such as Ko Murobushi, Goro Namerikawa (the starting member of Sankaijuku), and performance group SAL-VANILLA.nnHe founded Kingyo (the Japanese word of goldfish) in 2000. His way of producing dance pieces which do not use established way of body expression, maximizing dancers' characters, get good review among Japanese contemporary world. Recently he has choreographed for other companies including the Tokyo City Ballet, participated in the Asia Dance Conference and led workshops on butoh. He has received numerous honors, including the Lab Award from ST spot (Yokohama), selection in the final performance of Next produced by the Saison Foundation in 2004. Then he advanced to TOKYO Competition #1 and also won maximum number of audience vote in Session House, 'LBP' in 2004. And he received the Audience Award at the Toyota Choreography Award in 2005, and the nomination in the Kyoto Art Center Performing-arts Prize in 2007.nnHe as a performer, producer and choreographer, dose workshops based on Butoh method and contributes to young artists' education. He emphasizes on maximizing characters of each person's body in his workshops and did series of workshops as the resident artist of Session House(Tokyo) in 2005. He creates his programs not only for dancers but also for students and kindergarten children, which lead them to communicate with each other through body; expanding body communication to human relationships, by recognizing their own bodies through dance.
