This is one of the most beautiful mountains in Yading, China, the legendary Yang Mai Yung. Journey to this place takes 2 days plus 4.5 hours of horse riding. rnTo catch the first glimpse of light of the day, I got up about 5:30am that morning. The thin air plus my fatigue body have really made the creation of the image extra difficult. It was freezing with temperature below zero Celsius. I even discovered there was a thin layer of frost on my camera equipment including the camera bag. The zip lock that hold my prism finder cracked quite easily when it was exposed to the air. Despite these tough conditions, I was glad that I sailed through okay.

Love the reflection composition, silhoutte, blue sky and its degradation, and snow cap! Everything is well balanced! Very nice Steve, one of my favorite pictures!
oh my God.. this is FANTASTIC! well i have no idea why this photograph was rated so low... certainly looks much better than some of my photos that got more points but ya that's fn for you steven :P anyways salutes for the effort to get such a photograph.. it's well worthed :)
yeah..I could understand your pain. Being in Alaska last two months myself and being under zero taught me how to survice and taking picture at the same time. I and you know the whole experience can't be explained no matter how long you write or tell. Just visited your website. Your stil life are the quality what I expected. Your landscape pics's color are somehow unreal too me. May be you have different perpective. Again, that's my humble opinion and I could be wrong.
2 days of horse riding ??? OMG ... must be a pain in the *** :D Where is Yading anyway ? Should be far north eh ... Xinjiang ?
