I know you are trying to create the image similar to those commercial "The Dog" but I believe that this version is a little bit out of bound. Just a little of tips. Try to get those eyes as sharp as possible as eyes are very prominent to producing an outstanding animal portrait. Keep it up and try again and also, the next time you are cropping an image, make sure it is either square, or the original horizontal or vertical photo :) hope it helps. Salam... and happy shooting
