Salam lagi... Sekilas Mengenai Penang. Kota yang juga banyak nilai historisnya seperti Malaka. Foto-foto ini merupakan foto tempat tempat tua yang terdapat di Penang. Serta beberapa Foto disekitar Jembatan Penang yang menghubungkan Pulau Penang dengan Malaysia. Penang terkenal dengan makanannya, lezat, dan murah meriah, satu Char Kwe Tiaw (Kwee Tiaw goreng) seharga 2 ringgit, sekitar 5000 rupiah. Taraf hidup disini juga murah. Komunitas disini bisa dikatakan 3 kelompok, Chinesse, Melayu, India. Banyak Temple, Gereja serta bangunan bersejarah lainnya disini. Serta juga pantai yang indah di daerah Batu Feringgih. Kapitan Keling Mosque A Monumental mosque crowned by yellow domes. This is the largest historic mosque in town, Built in 1801. This grand Indian-muslim mosque, which boasts of Moorish Architecture, was founded by Cauder Mydin Merican alias Kapitan Keling, the headman of the Muslim communitiy during that era. Originally a rectangular building with verandahs and a hipped roof, the mosque has been enalrged several times. British architects commissioned by the Muslim and Hindu Endowments Board gave the mosque its British Moghul Revival appearance in 1916.
Khoo Kongsi Located in Cannon Street (This street is suppoesedly named after a hole in the ground balls fired into the area during Penang riots of 1867. The Khoo Kongsi is a clan association of the Leong San Tong *Dragon Mountain Hall) caln, whose forefathers come from Sin Kang clan village in Hokkien province. The Khoos were among the wealthy Straits Chinnese trader of 17 century Malacca and early Penang. In the 19th century, the clan complex resembled a miniature clan village, with its own self-government as well as educational, financial, welfare and social organisations. The clan temple was built in 1906 when the Khoo clan was at the height of its wealth and eminance in Penang society.

Cathedral of the Assumption. Located in Lebuh Farquhar. Shortly after Captain Francis Light arrived on Penang Island in 1786, he arranged for the first Roman Catholic community to be brought over by ship from the parish in Kuala Kedah. This community was made up descendants of European settler who had intermarried with the Burmese and Siamese.
Fort Cornwallis In 1786, soon after took posseion of the island, Franchis Light erected a fort of nibong palms at the tip of the cape which called Fort Point and named in after the Governor-General in Bengal – Charles Cornwallis. This fort was later reconstructed int the same size, shape and layout. Convict labour which was first imported in 1780 was immediately put to work on the fort by Franchis Light to rebuilt the fort in brick for 67,000 Spanish Doollar in 1793. This star-shaped fort mounted with coannons along the perimeter and the most famous of the cannons is the Seri Rambai which still located in the northwest bastion of the fort. Di Batu Feringgih (Pantai Area) kalau malam ramai sekali, kanan kirinya penuh dengan orang berjualan, dan harga disini jauh lebih murah utk barang2 souvenir. Tapi harus nawar loh. Ini foto diambil di tepi jalan, dan di pantai...
